For a hobby I like to tinker with electronics. One project of mine is this ambient
weather IoT clock. It tells the time and the current weather conditions through an
addressable RGB LED strip that is wrapped around the clock. To preserve its '
minimal' aesthetics, I chose to present the weather in an abstract way by
the LED strips. Rather than the exact temperature, it gives you an indication;
it tells you whether you need to dress up for a rainy or sunny day.
The clock is equipped with a WiFi-module to connect to the internet and retreive information on the time and weather conditions. Because the clock is also equipped with an IR-sensor, it knows if nobody is around, so it can shut down the lights to save electricity.
Here you see the animation for slight rain during the night.
